2.2.1 The Bumponomics Mission
Before we can expect stakeholders on the BUMPS.app platform to actively design tests of alternatives, we must draft a foundational mission statement for the Bumponomics ecosystem itself that passes Ackoff's brutally rigorous criteria.
"To catalyze a global economic operating system that evolves human behavior beyond extractive, product-driven 'problem solving', harnessing the inevitable conflicts of daily agency to compound micro-moments into the multi-generational enrichment of our shared environment."
Does it pass the Five Rules?
- Is it unique? Yes. It does not exist merely to extract rent or provide a service. It exists to literally overwrite the global economic operating system, evolving humanity beyond extractive, product-driven "problem solving."
- Does it focus on thriving? Yes. It explicitly targets "multi-generational enrichment," shifting the paradigm far past mere survival or adequate corporate profit into the deliberate, aggressive enrichment of human life.
- Is it measurable? Yes. Because the entire framework is singularly focused on the physical mechanics of meaningful problems and their real-world outcomes, the system's progress and transformations will be completely mathematically measurable.
- Does it unify all stakeholders? Yes, but crucially, not through hollow, artificial harmony. Problem transformation mandates structural conflict and friction. The mission unifies stakeholders by giving them a shared, accessible operating system where their inevitable conflicts and local agency can be safely harnessed to produce a universally enriched biosphere—even if that transformation comes at the expense of some rigid, legacy actors.
- Is it inspiring? Yes. It is an epic civilizational quest to build a new economic operating system rather than simply managing the decay of the old one.
